(re)connecting.earth - reinterpreted by students at the Haute École d'Art et de Design de Genève (HEAD-Genève) with . February 25 – March 18, 2022

Twenty students from the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD) present, for three weeks, at the Pâquis baths their works, fruit of a week of workshops on the theme of the reconnection with the earth.

At the start of the 2022 school year, a week of workshops inspired by the reconnecting.earth project offered students the opportunity to discover artistic forms, experiment with instructions and develop a process aimed at the creation, exhibition and performance of "user manuals". The workshop takes as its starting point the idea of a "crisis of sensibility", theorized by the French philosopher Baptiste Morizot and the concept of artworks as instructions. While current discourses on the environment, climate change and CO2 emissions have a high degree of abstraction, the aim here is to discover how the works conceived for the project can promote in the public, in a concrete or metaphorical way, a direct contact with the immediate environment.

The instructions realized by the students in the form of drawings, collages, photographic montages, typographical research are edited in the form of printed posters and presented to the public.

Public opening on 25.02.2022 at 11:00 am

The workshops Action Now ! (re)connecting.earth workshops are organized at HEAD under the direction of Caroline Bachmann (HEAD) in collaboration with Bernard Vienat (art-werk), coordination Nastasia Meyrat (HEAD).
